Jack Russell

Welcome to Kennel Nyhusgarden breed of Jack Russell Terriers.

On these pages you will find a presentation of all our dogs. You can also find the FCI breed standard with a short description of the breed.

If you want the whole picture we recommend that you use the links to other FCI registered breeders in Norway and outside. We also recommend you to use an approved kennel when you are getting a dog. Most importantly, to ensure that you to get a healthy, breed typical dog that you can show and breed without putting the breed in any danger.

This may sound dramatic but, in Norway the breed is small and therefore very vulnerable and it is therefore vital to get it as homogeneous and strong as possible. When you think of that you are getting a dog with a full pedigree at the same price (sometimes cheaper) as an unregistered dog, it’s not so dramatic after all.

Under the picture of “Pepper” you can read about how we started to breed these small but also spirited dogs. They are tough after all!

The whole thing started with that our daughter Linn wished to get a dog in 2003. Linn was at that time an active horse rider, so it had to be a JRT. Why not. On that time we only had one dog Sally, a wonderful creature of a Dachs. She had the world’s best hunting lines and the worlds best couch lines. No one was better to warm up freezing toes in the wintertime. If you wish to get a Dachs with good hunting genes and a very good social attitude, contact us and we will connect you with the sources.

Coincidences were the reason fore us to get in contact with a Jack Russell breeder in Sweden that was planning to have puppies in some month’s time.

We didn’t know then, but it showed that it was one of the most serious and cooperative breeders of Jack Russell Terriers in Sweden.

Saltisgården in Haslarp, right outside Helsingborg delivered our first Jack Russell Terrier. Then they became an important source to get other dogs, contacts and good advices when we didn’t understand what was wrong in the herd or with one dog.

Without Ingrid and Henrik we would never have started with breeding. Our later import from Australia was also through them.

Penny Lane was borne May 2003. we got her to Norway that summer, and after that we have been in love with that breed. That kind of dog you have to look a long time for. She is awake all day long even when she is asleep. It doesn’t mean that she can’t relax. This breed has an own way to pick up everything that happens around them. Nothing is uninteresting and everything got to be checked out!

After Penny we had to go back to Saltisgården to look at another dog. They had imported a pregnant bitch from Australia. The puppies were borne in Sweden. Later it showed that unfortunate it was only two puppies. But what does that matter when both of them had tons of charm? One of them was Sippo (Saltisgårdens Sun Downer) and he came home with us, and today he is an important part of our breeding.

We also have two bitches that are imported from Australia. The oldest one is called Inverbrae Jillaroo south. She is an incredible nice and modest little lady. She has a very light body and she is extremely movable and frisky. She is a bit different from our other dogs, because she tries everything to avoid conflicts, but she really can tell the others that enough is enough!

Our other little lady from Australia is called Daisy Boquet. We have big expectations for this little bitch. She got an exterior we like a lot. She moves and stands very beautifully. Her abilities to charm are incredible, and she is extremely observant and participating. She looks us straight in the eyes and wonder if it’s happening anything soon. And if it’s not she fixes it herself, and then it’s best to keep an eye on her. No one knows what Daisy can do when you turn your back to her. She can run after the horses, steal an egg from the chicken house or try to catch some of the chickens. This lady expect effectiveness, because she means herself she deserve it.

We will most likely have more dogs without that they are represented in the text. It’s the representations of each dog you can find behind the buttons with dog names on that shows witch dogs we got. You can also see pictures and their

Have a nice day.

Best regards Anita and Morten.
